The removal of the contamination will have long term benefits to the safety of groundwater in the area. It is clearly important that the works are carried out in such a way that groundwater is protected during the remediation period.

The method of working has already been agreed by the Environment Agency, who are responsible for the groundwater.

We have already installed a number of off site boreholes which are regularly monitored. These will continue to be tested throughout the lifetime of the project.
